Mother Baby Bonding

Postpartum - the 4th Trimester

You've just given finished a 9 month marathon, congratulations! As you come back down from childbirth and get resettled into life with your newest family member, the first 10 weeks postpartum are critical to take care of your body by replenish your energy and re-balancing your system.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can:

  • Nourish the body from extreme energy expenditure and blood loss from childbirth

  • Support reproductive hormonal changes

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, depression, overwhelm

  • Reduce mastitis flare ups and prevent further occurrences

  • Increase milk supply

  • Improve energy

  • Eliminate hemorrhoids

  • Calm the nervous system

Most mommas don't want to leave their sweet baby for the first time, which is very understandable. I invite mommas to bring their newborn to their postpartum treatments to nurse them while they get acupuncture if that would make them feel comfortable. It is best to start postpartum care 10 days after birth, and continue weekly for 6-8 weeks to gently replenish and rebalance your system.

It is easy to neglect your care after the marathon ends and new life begins! But your baby needs you to be healthy and well, your family needs you to be healthy and well, and YOU need you to be healthy and well.

Wherever you're at in your postpartum journey, acupuncture and TCM can support you.
